Reviewer Guidelines - Manuscript Evaluation Form Instructions

Purpose of This Form

The PsyCraft Journal Reviewer Evaluation Form is designed to ensure a rigorous and standardized peer review process for submitted manuscripts. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and scholarly feedback using this form, which supports editorial decisions while helping authors improve their work.

General Review Instructions

  • This is a double-blind review process. Do not include your name or personal identifiers in the form or comments.
  • Please download the form, complete it thoroughly, and upload it to the system by the review deadline.
  • If you are unable to complete the review, please notify the editorial office as soon as possible so that a new reviewer can be assigned.

Structure of the Evaluation Form

The form is divided into five main domains, each assessing specific aspects of the manuscript:

1. Presentation

  • Clarity, coherence, readability
  • Grammar, punctuation, APA 7 compliance

2. Introduction and Literature Review

  • Relevance of title and abstract
  • Rationale, literature review, identification of research gaps

3. Methodology

  • Sample description, research design
  • Appropriateness and justification of methods (quantitative or qualitative)

4. Results and Discussion

  • Accuracy and relevance of findings
  • Interpretation, implications, and alignment with prior research

5. Relevance and Contribution

  • Originality and significance for international readership
  • Practical and theoretical contributions to the field

Each item is rated using the following scale:

Comments Section

  • Comments to the Author: Provide detailed and constructive feedback. Focus on both strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Comments to the Editor: Share confidential insights, publication recommendations, or ethical concerns.

Editorial Recommendation Options

At the end of the form, please select only one of the following decisions:

  • ☑ ACCEPT – No revision needed
  • ☑ ACCEPT – Minor revisions needed
  • ☑ MAJOR REVISION – Recommend revision and resubmission
  • ☑ REJECT – Provide detailed reasons in the comments

Confidentiality and Ethics

  • Do not share the manuscript or any part of your review with third parties.
  • If you detect plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ethical violations, report them to the editor immediately.
